Terms of service
Effective date: 2026-10-19 · Last updated: 2026-10-19
These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to your use of inferspeed.ai, api.inferspeed.ai and the related APIs, Playground and console (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, creating an API key or adding credit, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you use the Service for an organization, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these Terms for it.
1. Who we are
InferSpeed (inferspeed.ai, "InferSpeed", "we", "us") provides an API that routes your requests to third-party AI models and returns their responses. We do not train or author those models.
2. Accounts
- You sign up with a Google or GitHub account. You must be at least 18 years old and allowed to use the Service under the laws that apply to you, including sanctions and export-control laws.
- One account per person. Do not create extra accounts, and do not share your account with others.
- Keep your API keys secret. You are responsible for all use of your keys until you disable or delete them. If a key is exposed, delete it in the console straight away.
3. The service
- An API that accepts OpenAI-compatible and Anthropic-compatible requests at api.inferspeed.ai.
- A Playground for trying models in the browser.
- A console for API keys, usage, credit, orders and support.
Features may be added, changed or removed over time. Setup and limits are described in the docs.
4. Model routing
- You may send any model name. We accept the request and route it to an available model: the model you named when it is available, otherwise another model chosen by our routing policy.
- The response names the model that served the request. Each request is billed at the price of the model that served it.
- Models are provided by third parties. We may add, change, replace or withdraw models at any time, and a model may be unavailable for a while. Some models are not offered in some regions; such requests are rejected and not charged.
5. Pricing and payment
- Prices are per token (input, output and, where listed, cached tokens), in US dollars, as listed on the pricing page.
- The Service is prepaid. You add credit through our payment provider (Stripe), and usage is deducted from your credit as you go. Requests are refused when your credit runs out.
- Purchased credit does not expire.
- Promotional credits (such as sign-up trial credit, top-up bonuses and codes) have no cash value, are used before purchased credit, and may expire as stated when granted.
- Prices exclude taxes unless stated. You are responsible for any taxes that apply to your purchases.
- We may change prices. A price change applies to future usage only, never to requests already made.
6. Refunds
- You can ask for a refund of unused purchased credit within 14 days of the payment. Request it from your Orders page in the console where the option is shown, or through the contact form (choose Billing) with the order ID.
- Each request is reviewed by our team; refunds are not automatic. We refund the unused purchased credit from that payment: all of it if none was used, or the unused part if some was.
- The refund goes back to the original payment method. The amount returned is exactly the amount approved, and the same amount is removed from your credit. Your bank may take several business days to show it.
- Promotional credits and credit already used are not refundable. Requests made more than 14 days after the payment are considered case by case.
- We may decline refunds linked to fraud, abuse or a breach of these Terms. Any refund right that applicable consumer law gives you still applies.
7. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service, or let anyone else use it, to:
- create, store or share illegal content, or infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
- abuse, harass, threaten, defraud or deceive people, including spam and phishing;
- create or distribute malware, attack systems, or gain unauthorized access to accounts, networks or data;
- get around rate limits, spend caps, billing, suspensions or security measures;
- resell, sublicense or share access to the Service or your API keys without our written permission;
- share accounts, or create accounts to collect trial or promotional credit more than once;
- interfere with or overload the Service; or
- break the usage policies of the upstream model providers that serve your requests.
8. Your content
You keep ownership of the content you send (inputs) and, as between you and us, of the responses you receive (outputs). To produce a response, your request is sent to a third-party model provider. We process your content only to provide, secure and bill the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for having the rights to the content you send.
9. Availability
We provide the Service on a best-effort basis. There is no service level agreement (SLA). The Service may be interrupted for maintenance, by third-party providers or for other reasons. Requests are subject to limits, including rate limits and the spend caps you set on your keys, as documented in the docs. We may lower limits temporarily to protect the Service.
10. Suspension and termination
- We may suspend, limit or close your account, or block requests, for a breach of these Terms, fraud or suspected fraud, chargebacks, non-payment, or to protect the Service or other people. Where practical we will tell you why.
- You may close your account at any time through the contact form. Unused purchased credit is handled under section 6; ask for a refund before or with your closure request.
- If we close your account without cause, we will refund your unused purchased credit.
- Sections that by their nature should survive closure (including payment, disclaimers, liability and indemnity) survive.
11. Disclaimers
The Service and all outputs are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete or offensive. Review outputs before you rely on them; you are responsible for how you use them.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 3 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them.
13. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your content, your use of the Service in breach of these Terms, or your breach of law.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date. Changes apply from that date and do not affect requests made or credit purchased before it. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms; if you do not agree, stop using the Service and close your account.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved by the state or federal courts located in California. Mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence still apply where the law requires.
